Holy crap

It's been over a year! Hah, and to think I was gonna try to make this a daily occurrence. Oh well.

So I'm still a store bitch, at the same store. Not a whole lot has changed at work. However I DID work for the United States Census. That was fun. Sort of, I mean in about 2 months I made almost $5k and got a LOT of stories. Oooh boy do I have STORIES from that job!

Also I don't go to college anymore, at least not for now. I decided to drop out last semester because....well after graduating in 2006 and starting college that fall, I've gone through four COMPLETELY different majors and couldn't settle in any of them.

They had all my major interests in life, first Arts Administration so I could some day run a theatre or museum. Quickly lost interest in that. Second was Marine Biology since I've had a large interest in fish since I was but a wee child. Then I realized how much math (Math is the BANE of my existance) was involved in the field, and ALL the different things you must go through just to probably end up working at an aquarium. So I opted out of that for Communications so I could go into News Casting. Thinking I would probably like to stay in the islands, it was a big shocker when a bunch of the local news stations merged, effectively killing the job market in that field. So I was like, "Hey, I can KEEP this major and do journalism! I was an editor of the high school paper!" so I stuck with it, and went in that path....then one of the two major newspapers bought the other one. Cutting those jobs in half. Oh goodie. So I thought, hey I love to cook and bake, let's go into Culinary!!!.............Yeah. I don't love it THAT much. I really found out to be a successful chef, you have to have a special kind of Arrogance. Imagine a room full of people WITH that special kind of arrogance in varying degrees. NOT. FUN.

So here I am. A lot has happened since I last posted, a few major things were dropping out, meeting Ash my buddy from Australia for the first time, losing my best girl Julia to school in the mainland but getting her car instead, starting up not one, but TWO small saltwater tanks and finally seeing why people love them, applying for the Secret Service Analyst position (and not getting called back, wasn't expecting to but it'd have been fun) and finally going back to the stage for the first time in 4 years with Zombie Prom, a musical comedy and getting great reviews from both the local critiques and from the COMPOSER himself!
Lastly, I've been neurotically entering the HGTV Dream Home contest PRAYING to God that I win! This year's house is AMAZING and I don't know how I've never heard of this contest before!! You get a house, car AND money to help you pay off the taxes!! Entries are gonna stop being taken as of Feb 18th, so I got only one more chance to enter and hopefully I'll get a surprise visit at home! PLEASE!!!

Also, POKEMON BLACK AND WHITE IS COMING OUT IN AMERICA! YAY!

Well that's about it for now I guess. Hopefully it won't take 14 months for me to decide to update this once again!

It's a start

As you can see from the title, you can deduce that I am a college student, who also has a fairly crappy job. I work in a local grocery chain store and I am a Courtesy Clerk. Basically, no matter what you hear, we are the store bitches. We do EVERYTHING. We fix the all the items on the shelves, sweep and mop the store, take out the trash, clean the toilets, bag groceries, gather shopping carts, carry out customers and we also finish off the jobs of the other departments that may have been left behind.

These are my stories I have decided to share with you, because you have an increasingly unusual life working in a grocery store. Especially a haunted one. But we'll touch on that later.

Now, first off you're going to need to know this now, for it is something I will bring up many a time.

I Am A Fish Nerd.

Everyone has a hobby. Mine involves lots of water and scaly little guys & gals with fins staring at me wondering when I'm gonna drop in more little worms or pellets of num. I'm also a conventional nerd, I like video games. But what guy doesn't? However my guilty pleasure is Pokemon. I am an utter and complete Poke Freak. But don't let that put you off, I will refrain from talking about it unless something major is happening in the Pokemon world, like the release of HeartGold & SoulSilver, remakes of Pokemon Gold & Silver, on April 1st of 2010. ;)

Today was my day off, so there was not much to report upon, a friend, whom shall be known as Squeaker, came over today. She had never seen Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince nor read the books after Order of the Phoenix. So we watched that once she finished classes, ordered L&R Drive In for dinner, she had the Chicken Katsu and I the Teri Beef. Personally I prefer L&R to the traditional and infinitely more famous L&L Drive In. L&R tastes better for whatever reason.

After the movie we hung around for a bit and showed each other various videos on the infamous YouTube, while planning our preparations for auditioning for Avenue Q at Manoa Valley Theatre, opening March 2011. It's a long way away so we decided on getting into another show in the meantime to get our gears back running, it's been years since we last performed on stage and it's about time we "come out of retirement".

Afterwards she left for home, to get there before her current and long time boyfriend, we'll call him Grumpy, got home and realized she was still out and with ANOTHER MAN. GASP. He believes I'll STEAL HER AWAY from him for some odd reason, even though I could've done that YEARS ago if that was in either of our interests. So she gets home and we both tune in to the finale of the current season of Top Chef. Michael won, the cook neither of us wanted. She wanted Brian and I, Kevin, but alas, it wasn't our choice. Oh well.

So afterwards I spent some time cleaning, maintaining my tanks and am currently watching Julia & Julie and that movie inspired me to create this very blog.

And that is where I will end for today. My sleeping pills have started to kick in, and I need to be heading to bed now, tomorrow there will be more, for it is my last day of classes before finals and I will be working til midnight. So, catch ya later.
